Atendiendo a una solicitud del gobierno americano, que buscaba una
política de aproximación con  Brasil, Walt Disney hizo este y otros
cortos de antología.-
Era época del final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y el Gobierno
Americano temía que el Brasil se tornara un país comunista.
Esta maravilla fue creada en los años 50, enteramente a mano, sin
computadoras, efectos digitales u otros recursos mágicos del cine de
hoy.

1950’s animated cartoon – a Jewel
Following a request from the US government, which wanted to attract
Brazil to the West’s way of thinking, Walt Disney made this and other
short films.-
It was the end of the WWII and the American government feared that
Brazil could turn communistic.
This jewel was created in the ‘50s, all “hand’ animated, no computers,
no digital effects nor any other magical resources as in today’s
cinema.
