Jorge Blanco was presented with the DCOTA Stars of Design 2013 Award. The Design Center of the Americas, President/CEO Charles S. Cohen honored the 2013 Stars of Design. Six awards were given to this year’s Stars of Design winners. This award recognizes professionals who have attained distinguished recognition in their fields. All award recipients were selected by a renowned panel of design experts and members of the national, regional and South Florida media. The recipients are: Emilia Karram, Lifetime Achievement; Bernardo Fort-Brescia, Architecture; Jorge Blanco, Art; Jonathan Adler, Product design; Stanley Matz, Landscape design; Eric Cohler, Interior design; Seth Browarnik, Photography.
For over 20 years DCOTA has served the design community attracting top internationally renowned architects, designers and their clients. DCOTA is part of the Cohen Design Center quartet, with sister locations in Manhattan (D&D Building), in West Hollywood, California and in Houston, Texas.
Jorge has been awarded 16 public art commissions in different cities in the United States. He has also created numerous works for private collectors in different parts of the world, such as Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina, Germany, Belgium, China, Indonesia, Japan, the Dominican Republic and the USA.
